Session Overview

In December 2022, the Government of Alberta announced changes for Noise Exposure – Part 16 in the OHS Code, coming into effect on March 31, 2023. Major changes include:

  • Updates to technical standards and terminology
  • Reduced threshold level for conducting noise exposure assessments
  • New requirement for fit testing of hearing protection

Glyn Jones is a Senior Partner at EHSP with 38 years of experience as an occupational hygiene consultant. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety. He is a Professional Engineer, a Certified Industrial Hygienist, and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional. His expertise includes occupational hygiene, indoor environmental quality, hazardous materials management, risk assessment and management, occupational health and safety management system development and auditing, and accident investigation and causal analysis. Mr. Jones has completed work in heavy industry, manufacturing, commercial building industry, institutional settings, and for all government levels in Canada and overseas.
